Giddy with excitement, yesterday I raced home to check the mailbox for some new goodies. You all know that fandangles, as I affectionately refer to accessories, are my absolute weakness. Being a lady of style and fashion it's only right, to stay if not ahead of the trends, to be apart of them - gracefully! Bling is my staple accessory. There is never too much for me *giggles* There is that age old rule about "taking 1 piece off before you leave the house" - yeaaaaah um I'm usually the one trying to force another piece on lol. Anywhooo, so as I was watching my fav shows on VH1, Bravo and even Wendy Williams - I keep seeing these square diamond bracelets pop up!! Kim on ATL housewives was given one for her birthday, EmB is seen sporting them on Love and HipHop and the list goes on... First off when searching, or shopping for my pocket's sake I like to go with quality and great pricing. So after doing some research, I went to my bookmarks of shopping sites. Recently Mac created one of the best collections I've seen in years. Only because all the lipsticks were Matte!!!!!! If you know me I loooooooooooooooooove a matte lipstick!! The perfect texture to work with as well as to create other looks. I glanced at some swatches and took on a half-ass approach and ordered 1 of every color! Ladies and Gentleman I am literally in tears!! By the time I got my lipsticks every last store and website were completely sold out!

When I tell you *slaps desk* the colors have me using the lipstick in sloooow motion!!!!!! Nioceeeeeee is an understatement!!!! I feel like I don't even want to use them cause I don't want to use them up

While out with my niece a picked up a eyeshadow palette as well. Together I created this look!

Here I am using the makeup palette I purchased and a lipstick from the collection called Party Parrot.

I have an obsession with my purse makeup bag(S) - yes I have 3...smh. I am trying to figure out the best way to travel with what I need with out breaking my shoulder orrrrrrr another set of purse straps.

I think I've found it with my latest purchase.

So on my first trial run with the palette. I did my whole entire face minus lips and eyebrows of course and it was a successful run. The palette has blush, bronzer and highlighters. As well as a complete palette for neutral looks and a variation of colors for smokey looks. I just replaced all the products in one bag for this one simple palette. I keep 3 brushes a few lippies and my translucent powder and I'm good to goo!

Trying to minimize the load and this helped a lot!

On this edition of FR... we are talking hair, hair and more hair!

Do you recall my previous post about the Malaysian curly hair??? Well if not click here

So since BW was upon me I wanted to change the look. For some odd Redgal reason I prefer straight/ tamed hair for formal events. So a quick change was needed. Don't fret the red-bottom hair is washed, conditioned, air-dried and awaiting the spring!

So I contacted the company of the Malaysian hair and they offer a Peruvian straight hair.

Yes I said Peruvian!!

The email consult assured me that the texture best matches African-American hair and I would def love it!

What beats failure but a try!!

So I ordered 2-24, 1-22, and 1-20 for the upcoming install.

Curled the hair reaches my waist!

Straight I sit on the hair and I stand at 5'7

I installed this hair several weeks ago! The hair wefts were sealed for me - which I really appreciated. Sealing hair weft aid, with minimal shedding.

Now I am a length and fullness heaux! Hence the 4 bundles of hair - giving you Dolly Parton hair lol

But on a usual install only 3 bundles are needed - keep in mind.

Pros's: holds a curl like no other hair I've ever had!! Minimal shedding! No and I said NOOOO tangling

Con's: Not so much a con but with any hair no product is needed! After you wash and dry - you just style! This particular hair has a shiny lustre in its natural state, the smallest serum application can give you that high shine I have in the pink ensemble(pause ill get to that event in a minute) but once you saturate the hair with a serum it will weigh the hair down and you will have to re-wash and style shortly after!

Sooooo low di serum lol

The company is very user friendly so that is always a pro!

Price: is def a pro!! Compared to other companies I've researched other companies offer pricing that is extremely expensive! 130.00 versus 250.00 for 1 bundle of hair - expensive.

The color is in its natural state a dark brown - I didn't bother to dye because matches my hair color perfectly!

I have been wearing weaves for years and I will tell you that I won't be buying any other brand or texture for my straight looks! BSS can only see me now for beauty products or for extreme emergencies!

This hair gets an A+ from me... all the information is below.

This post is well over due but since my child crashed again, here I am trying to give you the best of me, with minimal footage so bare with me *kisses on forehead*

So this particular weekend, is one of which I wait for all year long. DC's annual Black and White. When you think of reggae dancehall you think of street dances, crazy ensembles and just outrageousness all around. This particular event among the Dancehall community is in a league of its own. This particular event exudes class and elegance - formal prestige if you will!

With my affairs never in order, a lot of last minute running around, and a whole lot of stalking the UPS truck - late arrival is becoming my new habit.

Of which I need to break asap!!!!

Arriving at the event in a custom DAuxilly piece.

This particular one piece of satin like texture, was draped in sequined lace-like fabric and accompanied a train extending a good yard and a half behind me. Simple fandangles, stalk-able rings a little bling here and there - completed the look. The showstopper for the evening was of course the make-up!!! Yes ma'am stopping onlookers in their tracks and even posing for personal camera phones my lips held the attention of the evening.

Having fun at the event displaying that the hand-painted print on my nails, indeed matched my lips.

Up close and extremely personal the lips of the evening - impeccable skin I might add.

The event although only attended for a few hours, I could live at a BW affair, the music is never enough for me - was indeed on point! Everyone danced as if dancing was going out of style... lol! Home safe and took a few more shots to share....

Even after a night of partying I'm still able to take up close photos of my face for a blog posting

Nooo they were not hand painted on. See how I created the effect!

Having fun with the lip tattoo was indeed a great experience! They last for a 4-6hrs while eating and drinking. Word of advice while drinking alcoholic beverages I would advise you use a straw. Alcohol in any base is used to break down cosmetics so once on your lips it will cause the lip tattoo to dissipate - so be cautious!

Long Hair.. Red bottoms

As promised!!!! My hair review on the infamous curly red hair!

Okay!! first thing's first! I dyed the hair that color. It was my play on the ever so popular ombre effect.

Full video should be posted shortly.

Which will include step by step of me lifting the hair and mixing the red colors.

Now, the harrrrrrrrr, I saw my bff in this hair and had to have it instantly. We are lovers of all things weave and looking for the perfect texture is like finding a needle in the haystack! She forwarded me the private vendors information and I purchased 3 bundles: 1-20", 1-22', 1-24". With any curly hair of course it looks short but once you wet it you will see the actual length. Once I received the hair, I began the processing which took about a good 24-48 hours.

I let the hair dry, and I was on my way to Queen's Salon for the install.

The day after the install, I wet the hair with a mixture of 3/4 water and 1/4 conditioner.

The hair washed, curled with a flatiron. Gives you a full body wave feel.

Are you sold???? You better be! I have reviewed, purchased and have experimented with many curly hair textures. This has been the best I've tested so far! No tangles, No shedding!

Hair of this particular texture is always gorgeous when wet! To tame the hair minimal product is best! Water in a spray bottle a little conditioner to keep the hair hydrated helps! A little John Freda's Frizz-ease if the curls become to much, and that's it!

At night I usually will braid the hair into two pigtails and throw into my satin bonnet!!

Great price, can't beat that!

Thanksgiving weekend was really well spent with the ones I love! I spent the whole entire day cooking!!! Cranked out a full on seven course meal and then fell asleep afterwards. Everyone enjoyed - thank God for the giving of thanks! As everyone lay around resting I was up packing like a mad woman prepping for my weekend getaway to see my bestie!!! With new hair in tow lol.

Yess this is what happens when new hair develops and you have to have it!!! Ordered the hair fell in love then dye'd it - redbottoms how cute right!!!

There will be a whole entire post about this hair coming right up - beee patient!!!!

So I land in La and I are ready for whatever!!!! We shop, we dine and we run around the city to find clothes as we had wardrobe malfunctions. The premiere event for the holiday weekend was "Champagne overload" LA's hottest powerhouse couple JohnJohn and ClassyChris presented this event and that was first on the list!

Adorned in BCBG from top to bottom I arrived at the event - of course after I hit the nail salon, beat face and took my hair from curly to bone straight with a hint of a spiral at the end.

On this edition of FR, on the scene once again for one of the DMV's most anticipated annual events! Miss Leisa Bashment the leading lady behind www.bashmentlinkup.com. I review this event annually - so you already know that I've known her for years and refer to her as more of a guiding light than just a friend. As usual the crowd was insannnnnnneeeeeeee, music was on point and of course I was dressed for the occasion.

Ditching the blonde hair as winter finally appeared. I tried the darker hair with the side part!

Being such a social butterfly I missed the cake cutting and lord knows I look forward to Leisa's cake's every year.

As with every girl, its our duty to stay fully stocked with the things we use on a regular basis. With that constant grocery list of things, always growing, we tend to add little extras here and there. Going out one night and I pumped my foundation bottle and it *coughed* I almost had a heart attack!!

*gasps*

Me???? outta foundation - blasphemy!!!!

*Runs to laptop* Now a neat way that I shop and try to stay within reason - I keep a memo in my phone listed by stores or actually needs that I have. So of course I have a grocery list, a sephora list, a cvs list etc etc. With my phone always in hand, what better way to remember the things I need. So I whip out my trusty Mac list and I get to work. A small haul of my basics, and one or two or three little extra goodies just to fulfill my girly girl appetite.

Summer came and went and it was high time for the fall to make an appearance.

Emperor Anniversary - 40 odd years in the business

Hello Beauties, I hope this entry reaches you in the best of health!

In our family August is our non-traditional family reunion season. We get together usually in DC or JA and we celebrate our longest running family business annual accomplishments. This year we celebrated 40 years in the business! So I got the girls together and decided we should revive our old time tradition of t-shirts!! Growing up every year there were always printed t-shirts for everybody, and next year we will do them for everybody lol

We got heat this year lol, but its only a little group of girls in this family so we had our own little thing going lol

A conflicting event was planned on the night of our sound anniversary. Trying to be politically correct, I decided to pass through the event and then onto our own event!

I think that was the worst decision I could have made.

Arriving at the event we stand in line, I present my pass...

To hear the security with his rude ass bawl out - they counterfeiting those in the parking lot we not accepting them anymore. Already appalled, I called my cousin for a pass and as I'm waiting the security guard seemed a bit idle and kept running off at the mouth. So of course we get the cussin! Then I pulled out 60 bucks crumpled them and threw them in his face. 40 for the entry and 20 because only desperate people behave like that! *flips my new blonde hair*

Arrived in the venue and accessed the stage awaiting the show.

Another Pink!!

Hello beautiful people, I hope this entry of FR reaches you in the best of health!

So while in the mall, what was supposed to be a quick Victoria Secret run, turned into a list of other things. I cannot go into a mall and not swatch the latest Mac collections. As usual I keep a likkle list on my phone of products that I need to restock or things I want to swatch. The fall collections were full of repromotes so I just grabbed some basic kit items. I did however grab a new pink for myself :) Intrigued by the new prolong wear lipliners I decided to grab... you guessed it - that pink!

I got the "Rare Exotic' Mattene from the Posh Paradise collection. I paired it the the pro long wear liner, "More to Love." I love a pink lippie *sides eye my bff V* lol she knows I go for the pinks first in any cosmetic line!

Lining my lips and filling them in about 80% with the liner to set the base for the lipstick application.

Up close and uber personal! Oh and I delved into those ever so popular BBW's earrings. They are adorable. A little heavy, especially with me whipping my hair back and forth lol Long hair don't care lol

To highlight and on the cheeks, for the past few months I have been abusing the Mac's Semi Precious Pink MSF. #quicktip MSF's are great for highlighting especially under the eye, under the eyebrow arch, on top of the cheeks! Anywhere natural light touches your face you highlight!

Now on to the review of the prolong wear liner, after partying, having drinks, eating dinner, and a simple attempt to remove the lipcolor - I woke up and my lips were still lined. So can you say winner!!!!!

I will tell you that you need to have on lip moisturizer before application and even after! Once this is on your lips, it almost has a sealing effect on your lips. Great product, definitely serves its purpose!

I will be going back for a neutral color for my everyday use.

Leaving the summer behind, what better way but to celebrate the change of seasons but tooooo, fly out to the city that lives in the summer season -MIA!!

Saying farewell to the summer with a bang! Prepared to take the weekend by storm, my cousin and I had a set itinerary and we were ready to go! After my delayed flight and reddiventure in the airport for the day... we rested for the first night and was amped to take on the next day!

I've never been to anything like that in my life! If you ever hear about a Igloo or Fiji event in Mia - it is a MUST GO!!!! I've never seen that amount of people!!! The music was grrrreat and with never ending drinks, we were goood to go!

Sometimes my friends joke about my adventures, they wonder where I get the energy, trust me when I tell you - I have no clue!

This Saturday morning, I got up early and got dressed headed out on yet another Reddiaventure. I was invited to visit my friend in Jersey as he was managing some of the talent on the Beres Hammond tour. The tour stopped in 6th Flags New Jersey.

Why I felt like this would be a quick trip up and back -was beyond me.

Enlisting my partner in crime we headed out in the light drizzle that soon became a downpour. Taking our time on the road, after a few hours, we arrived to Great adventures. With my bro no where insight and of course not answering his phone :-/ I approached the entry gates, only to hear my name being yelled from a press and media tent. One of my great friends and PR to the stars called me over and granted my friend and I, VIP media press kits to enter the show.

Can you say blessed for having and know great people :)

We arrived early so we wandered around and then headed into the amphitheater to await the start of the show.

As we quint the place was completely full!

Clearly you know that amusement parks aren't my thing. Armed in a tank, floral silk shorts and my vintage LV rouge monogramed sneaks I took on one of my favorite artist of all time - Beres Hammond!!

A few artist and groups performed but I was patient, to hear his voice. Have you ever heard Beres live?? If you have never, I beg of you to - please! His voice, with his music - it puts you in the most calmest states of mind. No matter how you feel, when you hear his music you forget all the worries of the world. I danced and twirled and twirled and danced to his lyrics and was almost brought to tears. Upset when the show ended. But ready enough to get back down the 95 to prep for the event of the evening.

After a few hours on the road we reached home safe and sound. As I climbed up the steps, I was completely exhausted...

Jumped in the shower, told myself I was going to take a 5min nap.

My phone rang, and I had 1 appointment to complete.

Glad I packed my makeup kit in the trunk earlier that day. #proactive

I reached the event venue to do the makeup of the event host, wearing literally my pajama's and satin scarf! Noone said I had to be perfect :)

Finished her make-up with enough time to go home and get my own affairs in order.

Arriving to the event, late as usual, I headed straight to the bar and directly on the dance floor.

But not before I stopped and posed for the camera.

Get ready cause this piece of artwork is not for the faint of heart! Usually I am always pleased with my pieces from my designer but this particular piece, literally had me in tears when I took her out the box.

Told you!! Complete work of art!! I received soo many compliments this night on my gown, I was completely speechless. Thank you all!

Figuring that this would probably be my last pool party for the summer, I figured why not go out with a bang!!

I called up my designer, to make me a celebratory piece to say goood bye to the summer. The weekend was filled with horrible weather, but I was optimistic that it had to clear up for a lil Sunday evening outing.

This was a bring your own draank event, so I called up my partner in crime :) to find a cooler and to map out our drinking menu for the evening.

Tickets in tow, mommy and I dressed, we set out for an evening of music and a likkle poolside enjoyment.

Arriving to the venue the crowd was trickling in and we picked out our spot around the pool.

The music was on point, videomen were filming and the grill was on fireeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

Took a moment to catch a few pics by the pool.

Now if you have been following this blog thus far, you will know that me at the pool is nothing simple.

Only I would break out chandelier earrings, bling encrusted bracelets, a full on custom sequin couture suit and heels :) Oh and don't even think it - my face was sooooo beat!

The humidity that day gave my hair a fight! But thank the heavens for water-proof make-up :)

"Express your self on a t-shirt" event!

Typical Friday night hanging with the girls we venture out to our friend and promoter King Snatch! I must first say that the promo cd for this event - was crazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzy!!! It definitely is stuck in all ipods, desk tops and every vehicle!!

So we got our shirts printed and were ready for the party!! Yoooo I have to say there were sooo many creative shirts! Everyone outdid themselves!! Pics are posted on Bashmentlinkup.com (check them out) Summer in the DMV on the DH scene you already know its hot as hell! So the less you wear the better! Partied soak and wet from the sweat, but that didn't stop us at all. Good time had by all! If your in the area this time next year be sure to give this event a visit.

DMV's Annual All White Boatride

On this entry of FR... my attendance to the boat ride and the look that complimented the evening.

So let's jump into it!

After hearing the buzz, surrounding this event, get even more intense, nearing the event date - I decided to get serious about attaining a ticket! Copping a VIP ticket - literally the last ticket from the outlet - was like a man hunt literally lol

Taaddddaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.......

VIP tickets said to include a private area with catered food as well as bottles service - so I was definitely excited!

The day of the event arrived and I had to get ready from early!!

As the boat accepted patrons at 11pm and was scheduled to set sail on the Baltimore Harbor at 12am sharp!

Set up my camera attempting to record the tutorial and the battery died :( So I didn't get to capture the end result - as well time lapsed and I had to make a quick dash to finish my MU, get dressed and get out the door!

So as previously stated, this was my first DH boatride in this area. I arrived to Bmore and the parking was right across the street so that's always a plus! When I arrived to the pier they were just setting up the table to check tickets and to give out armbands. Who was first in line?? You already know - I climbed the high incline to get onto the boat. On entrance, there was a food set up so I grabbed a piece of fish and took to the 2nd floor of the boat where the sound was set up. As I snacked and greeted patrons the boat was filling up fast! This was a sold out event - according to ticket sales and word on the street! Once the boat set sail I decided to relocate to the "VIP" area. A small area of patrons gathered behind the rope, grabbed a table and began to enjoy the music. As I awaited the bar attendees to circle the area, I inquired about a drink order. To my surprise the champagne was soooooooooold out!!! The lady advised me that the bar was filled with other top shelf choices and she would be happy to get me something else. After pouting I got a double shot of Belve and cranberry! Swigged a sip of my friends Brut champagne and took to the dancefloor! Crammmmmmmmmmmmmed pack!

Everyone partying!!

Superflex as always set the vibe of the event and had everyone partying!

S/O to all the soundmen as you all did your part to keep the patrons entertained!

Lot's of laughs, loads of dancing and sooo many inside jokes later - the boat docked and it was time to head back to the 95!!!

*** Word to the wise*** there was no rumor about how sold out this event was - so I advise you to get your tickets early and pleaseeeeeeeeeeee put in your liquor order before hand!!! The early bird gets the worm with this much anticipated event!!

Once the flyer drops next year - GET YOUR TICKET!!!

A few months ago I did a haul on the Quite Cute Collection vid I had purchased 2 purple lipsticks. I came across them the other day looking for a lipstick to wear. I kept wondering when or how to wear it. Then I was on twitter and I saw the Pink Mag cover and it hit me!!!!

Purple would be my play color for the evening! Especially since it was an All white Boat ride - it screamed "pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee add some color!!!!" And I did :)

Keeping a Summer face

Hello Beautiful people! I hope this entry reaches you in the best of health! On this edition of FR, I'll be discussing summer and makeup. On a typical summer day I tend to keep my face minimal. I'll exaggerate the most important features and keep it moving.

A pet peeve of mine is people balling out, "I don't wear makeup in summer, or you CAN'T wear makeup in the heat!" That to me just sounds like a uneducated customer and def not an actual makeup artist!

So here are a few tips that should help you - should you choose to wear makeup in weather that is down right disrespectful! lol

When I mentioned key things I mean: eyes, lip, face

In my pic Im wearing a water-resistant foundation, lashes and a bold lip!

**Told you just a few key things and they will out fit you for the day!**

Face:

During weather such as summer it calls for you to transition your makeup bag. You typically put away dark colors and most would say your full coverage foundation. In my opinion, if your full coverage foundation is water resistant or even better water proof - why would I get rid of it #kanyeshrug. So no! I don't throw out my foundation I only integrate other shades to match my tan.

Starting with a face primer, something to maintain a barrier between your face and the makeup!!!!!!

If foundation isn't your thing but you want a polished look. You can opt for tinted moisturizer. Every major cosmetic line carries them. It's pretty much your face moisturizer with a tint of color close to your complexion. It will give you medium to sheer coverage.

Another option is a concealer to cover spots and a Natural skin finish like a bronzer or Mac's MSF. These products together will give you a complete look but they are light on application. Meaning you won't feel like you have on much. You conceal under your eyes or any other dark spot and you dust powder all over to finish.

My ultimate favorite product for summer is Mac's translucent powder! It's a white powder used to set makeup but is also a oily face girls dreammmmmmmmmmmm! Because it keeps the face matte(dry without shimmer). You can use this before and after you apply your foundation and through out the day as much as you need to! Avoid it in pictures though it does give off a white sheen.

Eyes:

You may still play in powder eye shadows but if you notice they don't last! You def want to use an eyeshadow primer before the application or opt for a cream shadow base. Then proceed with your eye shadow application.

As well I usually will just opt for a strip lash. Something full and long to give the eye all the dramatics you need with little to no product! If you love mascara you def need to stick to water-proof!

Lips:

Pops of color are a must! I typically break out my lipsticks this time of year, as sticky gloss and heat aren't really my idea of fun.

Lip stains are also a great item as it stains the lip but you don't feel as if your wearing any product.

Makeup as well is not only what you put on your face but what you put into your body! Keeping hydrated is def a key source to beautiful skin! Makeup only enhances your beauty - always remember that!

Hello Beautiful people! I hope this entry reaches you in the best of health! On this edition I bring to you my late but never- to fabulous to forget -run down of my Annual All White Event -look!

Hitting my nail lady up before the weekend activities....

I adore hearts... can you tell?

So Saturday started out with DC's Annual carnival celebration. Of which I missed. It was slated to start at 10/11 and I got there at 12 and it was completely over! Can you believe it????? Next year we will have to be eaaaaaaaarly! We spent the day at Lions Deli while the family sound played and my cuzzo Phil shot one of his upcoming videos!! If you don't know about my cuz Phil the Future - turn on your radio!!!!

Cause he is taking over!!!!

From one event to the next we visited until, day turned to night and it was time to rest for the latter activities.

Laying out my outfit, accessories etc I got my self ready for a nap for later.... you already know how this story goes...smh! I jump up at 3am, I don't know what the hell was going on with me - ummm exhaustion maybe lol. Mad dash to get dressed. Kept the face simple since the heat outdoors was on 10!!

Soooo I already know that the venue would be toasty!

Sooo 45mins later and 1 speeding ticket I arrived to the venue.

Stopped for a quick flick in the foyer...

I entered the venue to find my cousin and friend already cursing me out for my late arrival :(

So I greeted a few patrons took a few more pics...

So as I arrived the crowd was on 10!! Lots of featured socialite faces from near and far came to support "Miss I" for her annual event! Support was definitely well received! As it should be when we support, network, and build great relationships with those who choose to promote in the dancehall arena. I danced a bit more then I hit the bar. MI RASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!! Bar sell out!!! I wanted to cryyyyyyyyy! But the Bar Management assured me that re-stock was coming. So I spent the night 2-stepping and running to the bar to check on the liquor status. No wonder I hugged damn near everybody in the party cause I was on movements!! Just as the party hostess arrived and began to great the crowd and take photos, I heard the DJ announce, "Rose come!!" Yoo I picked up my gown and literally ran to the bar....lol Which is also how I missed my photo op, by time I came back they were giving the hostess her champagne shower and the party continued. I indeed had fun despite the heat of the venue. But we already know how it go for the summer in DC especially on the DH scene - you betta wear less and walk wid a fan!

Kirk Vybz presents...

Hello beautiful people, I hope this entry reaches you in the best of health!

On this edition of FR, a review of the event, and my look for Hosting of Kirk Vybz first birthday celebration.

I've worked with Kirk before, for my own event, and I can appreciate his professionalism as well as the product of work that he puts forth. So when approached me about hosting his event I was actually honored.

Sooooo on the road to Red Pumps and Red tie affair - we went!!!

Leading up to the event - I had the hardest time finding a pair of red shoes that I liked. Not sure if you know this but Red is my least favorite color especially to wear. It washes me out so I typically opt for other colors.

Found a pair of pumps but got them a bit dressed up so that they complimented my dress.

Hit up my nail tech for a fill and designs...

A bit of crackle, hand-paint, a few chains and some glitter later I was prepped for Friday.

Oooooooooooooooooook so the night of the event and as usual I sit at my makeup area and try to figure out what look to create for the night.

The crowd came slow but by time I spinned 2x the venue was full. Standing on stage announcing Dj schedule's and reading a million flyers was not at all an easy task!

Me neva know the sound have a fan underneath - I swear I was sweating in places, that I didn't know existed lol

At one point of the night some patrons decided they would storm the stage with flyers.

Not sure if the 1 woman versus 20 man ratio was supposed to scare me. But I had to immediately get bringle. Cuss couple badwud and dismiss them off the stage.

I'm requesting security next time puleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :)

On this edition of FR, a quick hair review.

Usually my "summer hair" is curly and long - like that's a huge transition :-/

So this summer - I go into my hair directory and found out that my beloved hair was no longer produced :(

So, here I am literally devastated - about hair, nonetheless.

So the search was on... *runs to youtube*

I came upon a few curl patterns, being that Bobbi Boss is one of my favorite brands I decided on the French Wave.

Loved it brand new, loved it even more wet with little, to no product added.

Quick facts:

Price: fair considering I buy hair wholesale. I believe in the store a pack usually cost anywhere between 90.00-145.oo. You will need 2-3 packs.

Maintenance: Little to no product is best. However I use Soft Sheen Carson Weave shampoo and conditioner, A curling mouse if I want to reduce the size of the hair. I like to braid the hair at night into 2-pony tails, and throw on a satin bonnet

Availability: You can purchase it at your local beauty supply store, or on-line

Performance: With any hair expect a bit of shedding, the hair works best with a few co-washes to revive it after any product buildup, may tangle if not maintained.

Overall: I'd definitely suggest the hair and will def purchase it again in the future.

Hello beautiful people, I hope this post reaches you in the best of health!

I write this post with my heart full, still in shock!

Early morning I was getting ready for work and I received a call that will forever change my life.

Who? What? What did you say?

I instantly grabbed my chest as I couldn't breath and began to scream.

Days of tears and isolation...

Every now and again I grab my phone to tell you a joke or want to reason about something.... and there is no one there.

They say weeping last only for the night, and joy shall come in the morning.

Morning seems like it's taking forever...

Patiently awaiting funeral arrangements...

I anticipate the drive, what I am about to see, and the emotions I will have to maintain.

On the drive up.. I kept asking myself, " T - where u really ago?" "T - what you really going to NY for?"

Arriving to see you lay there so calm - I almost felt at ease to know that you were at peace.

Tears didn't fall until I saw your kids and when they lowered your casket...

So many thoughts... and questions...

I thank you for being there for me, I thank you for the wisdom you have bestowed upon me, and I thank God for allowing me the opportunity to know you.

Time and prayer are what I cling to when I think about how I lost a friend.

It took a while for me to put those words together as jumbled as my thoughts are, is as jumbled as my mind is, whenever I think about this situation.

So me know me lose a friend.

May your soul Rest in Peace.

Dc's Annual Soul to Soul - 2k11

Hello Beautiful readers, I hope this entry reaches you in the best of health!

On this edition of FR - I bring to you a recap of DC's Annual Soul to Soul event.

So after running the place all day Friday looking for something Purple or White for DJ Prince's annual dance, as usual I go home and take a nap - and you pretty much know how that turned out. Working really hard these days and my body is literally not playing - she is literally shutting down and its not even up for negotiation. Def will have to plan better next year as I've been an attendance previous years so my support is def on-going.

Saturday I ran around for the day - as usual errands. Did make-up for a few clients but shut my book down early. I was determined to rest earlier in the day so I would be up for Saturday's event - Soul to Soul.

Sitting at my makeup desk I literally had no idea what I was going to do with my face. So I channeled a few pictures I saw before and created this look.

A deep black and silver glitter cut crease!

Soooo I ordered a Mac Pro 3d glitter and they sent me regular glitter. But being the Drag queen that I am *giggles* I hauled out my glitter basket. Yes indeed - a full basket of glitter!! I mixxed a few to give me a 3d glitter.

Okkk So I got to the event and the line was wayyyyyyyyy down the walk way, so we took an alternate route as the elevator to the venue began to malfunction. If you know me I always tell you that Souls is one of my favorite types of music- so I was excitedddddddd! I entered the venue, mingled a bit, took a few photos, hit the bar and then made my way to the dance floor. Where I danced and twirled all night! My gown for the evening stirred up a bit of controversy but whats a fashionable event without risk takers #kanyeshrug.

I was literally heated when the event ended as the vibe of the event was insannnnneeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Everyone dancing, drinking and enjoying themselves. I loved Skippy's speech when she thanked her patrons and give us two bible verse!

I always looooove events when the air of the event is calm and enjoyable. When everyone dresses to the 9'sssssss! The music is enjoyable to long talking just juggling!

Congrats to Skippy and Bobby the event was a great success and I look forward to it next year!

My final look....

Face: For any evening event when I know the temperature of the venue will be a little hot I always opt to use my Mac Pro long wear foundation.

I kept the face light. A little MSF medium deep to warm up the foundation.

Blush: Pinch Me with a little Warm Soul(Mac) to highlight the cheeks

Lips: Supremely confident supreme sheen lippie with cranberry and Plum Liner(all Mac)

6th Annual Champagne and Cake affair

On this edition of FR - Finally my own event review!!!

Now where do I start *takes seat* January is when I decided that I would keep this event soon after I dropped the flyer... Thanks to Matrix Media

Then the planning and actually putting things together began! Promoting began to take over my life amongst 2 careers a personal life and my health with is always sporadic *side eye*

I hit the road like a clap of thunder!! If there were 5 parties in one night - I was there!! I drove from city to city, store to shop putting up flyers! I had a tremendous support system!! Great friends indeed helped me carry the torch when I couldn't make it out on the road! Those same friends constantly supported me those nights, when I was on the streets promoting hard - they were there by my side and I thank them for everything!!!!! Divaville I am in debt to you all!

Then it was down to picking decorations, picking a cake. Check and Check knock those outta the way.

As the day came closer my family and friends began to travel to offer their support!

With my hair and dresses being shipped in - those were 2 additional things I didn't have to worry about!

Big up to DAuxilly the lady who dresses me!!

The week leading up to the event was full of running around, dinners and mini celebrations and nooo sleep!

Thursday came - my family gave me a small intimate dinner party before mayhem let loose. I shared a great dinner, laughs and all the while my bb was going off!

Friday was girls day I spent the day with my best friend V,we ran errands and had dinner. As the 3 of us sat at dinner the anxiety set in and I had to lay down.

Saturday morning arrived my actual birthday!! I rolled over to someone wishing me a happy birthday and yelling lets hit the road we got tings to do!!!

Where in the world would I be without my family and friends - everyone manned their battle stations: food, drink prep, decorations, sound system and best of all my damn BB.

We run the day into night and arrived at the venue at 11pm to set up and to delegate

With daylight savings time against me - I was caught in the party behind the bar as patrons rolled in. We made a mad dash to go get dressed! When I got back my sister was in the parking lot calling my cell - by this time I had lost it :( - the lights were on and I had damn near missed the party! I jumped out the moving vehicle - more like she dragged me out and we ran in! At first glance at the crowd, tears filled my eyes! It literally felt like a dream! All I kept saying to my sister is -is this my party?? She was like yes and you need to go enjoy it!

I was dragged through the crowd as I had to speak with the owner of the venue to see if we could get a longer amount of time to party - granted!!

So I took to the stage and the fun began!!!

All I remember was opening my cake -champagne splashed from every angle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yooo I felt like I was about to drown!!!!! I tried to take pics with everyone, and thank everyone for coming out. Time was again against me - I took to the DJ coffin and grabbed the mic and I had no idea of what to say but out of no where "HELLLOOOO BADMIND GOOOOD MAWNINGGGGGGGGG!!!!!" Belted out!! If you know me - you know I play this song at least 50 times a day!! I tried to remember everyone and give all praises to God my creator!! No sooner after my speech - I danced to like 1 song and made my way through the crowd to try to kiss and hug as many people as I could! Words cannot express how overwhelmed I was by the support I received! I could only thank God for allowing me to live good amongst his creatures and provide them a great event to attend. I tried to get some food that turned into a champagne drowning number a million lol!! I took a few more pictures. The night came to an end and I settled the accounts with everyone and wished everyone well. I couldn't believe it happened sooo fast!! Retrieved my belongings, dropped people home and made it back to our hotel. Me and my V prepared ourselves and went for breakfast, as the sun rose on our face we recapped how much of a crazy weekend we just had. I of course in tears of amazement as we laughed, chatted, ate and yawned. It was finally time to lay down.

I wrote a note on Facebook thanking everyone a few days later. Hoping not to leave anyone's name out. But just mainly thanking everyone for their contribution to such a successful event.

See you all next year!!!!

On this edition of FR- I present to you the annual Blue Jeans and White Shirt Affair - look!

The annual event flyer....

I've done a write up on Miss Platinum before - you already know! Foundation Woman promoter for the DMV. Keeps two of the most anticipated events a year here. And noooooooo matter what they draw people out of the woodworks. What I always look forward to is the different faces!! You can literally go to her event and not know anyone- which means more people to meet and mingle with.

Sooo of course I spend the day beating faces - typical Saturday. I decide to retrieve my dress, hit the fandangle spot, hit my nail lady(Hey Melissa) and make it home in one piece lol. I get home, I lay everything out in my closet so once I'm out the shower its a easy 1-2 to get dressed. Soo here is where the problem started - I took a nap!! People you already know if your beatttttttttttt and you lay down at 11pm its like fighting Goliath to wake up. If my homie never knocked down my door for me to blend 2 shadows for her to go to the dance - I would still be sleeping!! Mad dash to do her face, bathe and get dressed. Couldn't even do the face design I etched out on a face chart...chuppsss!

Got to the dance in the whhheeeeee hours of the morning but the party did a gwannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!! I hit the bar met up with my girlfriend and we hit the dancefloor. This was my co-workers first dancehall event and she had a ball!! The music was sooo hype!! Lava and Kolours and dem mix up speech had the ladies in a frenzy!!!!! The lights came on and its like the party got even crazier!!! The promoter took to the mic and thanked everyone and gave a likkle speech to thank her patrons - which is always much appreciated!

Always an event I mark on my calender and I always look forward to it!! So next year - I shall be there and I hope on time!!!!!

I was honored, when asked to do the makeup for one of the models for the event flyer. I took a few pics before she went to the official photoshoot.

I wanted to wait for the flyer premier before I wrote the blog post though.

Kam gets my full support for this event! There is nothing this sincere and very genuine diva could ask me and I would deny. We've known each other since we were toddlers and events have brought us full circle and on our road to Divaville. I wish her much success and I cannot wait for the event!!!!

On this edition of FR - I bring you another istallment of "Tings" - just random things I'm either using and want to share, oooooor something I'm trying and would like to review. Sooooo as always I'm always in Target' or CVS, sooo in the cosmetic isle, and I notice the ELF section in Target. I've tried Elf products before.

On this hunt in Target I was looking for tweezers for my kit and myself.

So I noticed they had 1.00 tweezers - hmmpf can you go wrong with dolla tweezers lol

So below the tweezers they had lashes for dolla - now you knooooooooooow me! I love a good lash - so I figured for a dolla(yes I typed dolla) you couldnt really go wrong with a trial! Soo while I was at work getting ready I decided to try them....

I decided to stick to my Duo glue for application.

But funny enough the lashes worked great!! The tweezers were also great! I decided to keep the tweezers for myself :) The lashes were great once on, they blended very well. I was skeptical as I dont like lashes on a band - I prefer lashes with clear band. But honestly they were great! The ultimate test would be if they could make it through a re-application.

No sorry they didn't - they are pretty much a 1 time deal! But for a dolla you can def throw some of these in your kit and even in your own personal stash!

Who doesnt love a beauty bargin!!

Edley Shine's latest track "Telephone Sex"

On this edition of F.R. I was privy to be invited as MUA for a music video!!!

Edley Shine, formerly of Born Jamericans, was shooting his latest track "Telephone Sex"

I was able to get a copy of the track from the extremely busy producer and artist.. take a listen

Arriving on set early on a Saturday morning - I was booked for two shoots that day. Leave it to me to wake up with just enough time to get dressed and head to a shoot.

Not to mention attending Queen Diva's Annual Black and Red the night before....

A quick Smokey eye(video tutorial coming this week!!! - oh how I miss YT)

and the infamous 3 lipstick Red lip.

Anywhooooooo *tap, tap* back on track!

So I get to the shoot and prep my area for the day.

Didn't get to see much of the video recording as I was off to the side working.

My models for the day were great subjects and a pleasure to work with.

Pics from the shoot...

My first model requested a Black and Silver smokey eye with nude lip. I evened out her complexion using Mac's Studio Tech foundation. Added a little color to her Cheeks. As well as, added false lashes to bring a bit of drama to the eyes.

Smoked to perfection :)

My next model adored the makeup I arrived in which was a Brown smokey eye. To make her look more personal I added some bronze and gold to her smokey eye. She as well requested a neutral lip so a soft lip pencil and gloss was a great pair to achieve this look. As well added false. I evened out her complexion with Mac's Prolong wear foundation as she indicated that her skin gets a bit oily.

Added a hint of color to her cheeks, and to finish the look set with a translucent powder.

Contoured her nose as well as cheeks.

While on set I had the pleasure of meeting one of the hottest acts coming from Jamaica right now - Mad White Jamaican. Completely a honor to meet him. He is hilarious and such a gentleman.

On this edition of FR... Going out to run some errands and to grab lunch with friends, I figured I would prep my live business card(my face) for the day. I figure something light and simple - considering I usually don't know what I'm wearing when I sit down to do my makeup.

I never seem to know what colors I'll use either - I sit down, turn my music on and I begin to prep my face and I just start to grab colors.

On this edition of FR... I congratulate and would like to celebrate a good friend Kim. Kim kept her first birthday celebration and it was a complete success. Kim is a very creative soul and a very kindred spirit as well- so support was a def! When she approached me for just some advice on keeping her event - I was actually honored. Not your normal event - this event even shed some light on her career as a model. In the midst of the event - a handful of models burst through the crowd and stood upon post! Striking poses and had the whole crowd in aweeeeeee. A few moments later Miss Kim graced us with her presence. I think for a moment everyone forgot that we were in a party - we were just watching the art of a models posing.

The crowd was strong and the music was great!

Kim invited some of DC's DH veteran sound selectors and an added treat! - Which I could def appreciate!

She also had myself and Lady Ray host the event!

Lady Ray grabbed the mic and gave the girls a speech that took life!!!!

She kept the vibes going and had the crowd laughing.

Glad I was apart of something that will def be here to stay.

Look for it next year - you know I will def have the flyer posted so stay tuned!!

The Annual Black and White Event

Hello Beauties, I hope this entry reaches you in the best of health!

On this edition of FR.. one of my favorite events - period! Each city has it, the best one of course is the one held in Jamaica during the Christmas holiday. But when December rolls around - I'm only looking forward to the Black and White event here in DC! This event is what we DH people would call a "good clothes" event. An event where you prepare months ahead of time. Shoes, dress and even hair is shipped from the farthest parts of the world - lol. Of course my glam squad was on it!!! This was indeed the night where I premiered the infamous Reddi Red hair :)! After running around all day doing hair, even working a shift, and lawd did it rain!!! I got home at around 2am and made a mad dash to start the process. Got the music pumping laid out everything: dress, a million fandangles, 6 pairs of shoes, and of course makeup choices. I didn't know what I was doing to my face but when I sit in front of my vanity and tune the world out - I let the creative juices floooooooow!

Needless to say.. I didn't go for the normal face. Inspired by my dress and shoes I decided to adorn my faces with matching bling. All night people complimented my creation. Of course there were those who just stared but I'm sure attending a formal event in tights and a shirt was problematic enough for you *blows kiss*

So after I break my neck trying to reach the venue. All forget my eyelashes -cho! We reach and its pouring!! I walked into the venue as I've never been there before. Seen how it was overcapacity from the door way!! So I hit the bar and made my way back to the center. I'm getting my 2-step on and fight bruk - *kiss teet* I wonder if people know how much money people invest in and evening out?? Pissed I didnt even get to bubble and break a sweat *cough* I ment glow - because Diva's never sweat!

Hit the Ihop and came home. I couldnt event tell you who was there, from who wasn't.

Home by daylight...

Next year, Ill def plan better - so that I can leave the house earlier...smh! What do I have instore for next year?? Planning from now cause this is an event you don't want to miss!!

I've received calls from Jamaica about the girl with the, "red hair and diamonds on her face" -heyyyyyyyyyyyy how u doin??? *giggles*

You already know its a well endorsed event by MEEEEE and MEEEE and MEEEE again lol

I heard my homie say one time, "if loving weave is wrong, I dont want to be right!"

Thats pretty much how I feel about it! Remember that song, " its your hair weave- baby it's your hair weave" ahhh the 80's lol

My frens and I are the weave council when it comes to finding a great hair, hair style and products to maintain. Lately I've been loving the Bobbi Boss series of hair. It retails for about 150-180 per pack and you will usually need a good 2-3 packs. I havent ditched Velvet - my first love! But the BB texture is a bit easier to blind with my hair

Shortly when I kicked out the red hair - I got my hair stylist to install the BB Ocean wave. Loooove it!!

It's soft and very managable. Every hair sheds a bit and tangles a bit - but that wasn't a problem for me. If you maintian your hair properly and dont abuse it - it will be kind to you!

I also tell everyone to invest in the Soft Sheen Carson weave care line of shampoos and conditioners - they are great!!

And yes - I just got home from work - soooo you know I was tired!

LA's Annual White and Pink event

Working hard like a slave, it was time for a much needed kidnapping!!

Close my eyes and board a flight and landed in the arms of my bestie in Los Angeles!!

It never looked better!!

70 degree weather, the best breeze ever and an event not to be missed!!

After much needed hugs, kisses and nuff girl talk me and my bestie headed out to one of LA's most anticipated Dancehall events! The Annual White and Pink affair...

Before boarding my flight I spent hours arguing with the delivery service who had just lost my custom DAxuilly piece for the event. **pissed** with moments until my airport shuttle arrived - I ran to my closet and of course I have DAuxilly pieces on reserve. It wasn't pink nor white but it was a piece that would def kill it at the event! Dress in and I boarded my flight!

Green and white to be exact *giggles* but I'm sure with a figure and a smile like that - noooo one asked why I wasn't in pink!

My bestie and I as we arrived at the event!

We arrived - well I thought hella late, but we seemed to be right on time! We hit the bar and made our way to the center - of course. I damn sure didn't come from so far to hold the wall. This was my night out and I was ready to sweat my edges out *giggles* The party was indeed full of vibes!! The music juggled all night! Didn't realise how many people I knew or well - knew me in LA but it was def comforting to party with familiar faces. The jokes were on constant 10!!! that night!! You know the night is crazy when you laugh so much your cheeks hurt!! Shout out to my fam and other LA homies - I shall be back!!!!

Daylight and we are on our way home - that's def no crest or Colgate smile that's def Rose :)

Everyone was in blue and green but I got to showcase the other colors of the collection.

And where did I find red feathered earrings - I'm tellin you I wasn't supposed to wear no blue or green!

Sooo as you all know I did my Rhi-Rhi inspired red hair and bwoooooooy did I have fun with it.

Def ready to try some other colors - but you already know how my thought processes are draaaawn out.

The only downfall of doing such a bold color is the eye makeup choices - a la limited!!

I could do a nude eye, or a purple smokey eye and ummmmm thats about it!!

I have alot goin on with the preparation for my event - but I have an overflow of blog entries soooo I had to stop to get to work!!! Please forgive me if these next upcoming entries are short and to the point!!

A some cut and go chrruuuu post unno ago get :) love unno same way!!

This year started out with a BOASY BANGGGGGGGGG! none other than Border aka Mr. Boasy's kept his birthday celebration.

Tired from work I had to make a mad dash home to get dressed. Me and my cuzzo KP arrived just in time. The place was raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam!! Getting through the crowd was hella hard.

Of course I had to stop, kiss and hug everyone that I know. I had just recently ditched the red hair soo everyone had to stop and cuss me for takin it out. I loved the Red hair but it was only for promotional purposes - it started to spread like wildfire about the place so that was an easy exit for me.

A few years ago I chopped all my processed hair off and decided to go natural. The combo of hair I inherited cannot take to much processing as its thin already. So natural me seh!!!

Sooo Monday I was on youtube as usual..lol
And I came across Kanye's new video. Have you ever seen something that wakes you up - literally all your senses? Goosebumps filled my arms, my ears filled with air and my mouth hit the floor. My mind felt like it had been in a coma! I instantly began drawing, writing and designing! A beautiful mind... a beautiful mind - indeed. The artistic imagery's in this video are beyond powerful. When I speak of the many depictions - I get loud and excited... lol I've loved Ye's lyrics since my earlier years in college. Living in the south trying to get everyone to listen to "up north music" was hard - so I kept him to myself. Lyrics for daysssssssssss. Songs that actually made you think. I was only wondering when his lyrics would come alive and be available for my eyes. Here watch and see... this video is it! *standing ovation*

A likkle late but me deh ya still. Work is already kicking my butt soo I- are- hear to just talk some tings :)

Sooooooooooooooooo October my favorite month - the month, the ONLY month that actually celebrates makeup! Around Halloween is when you will find all your beauty supplies ie lashes, face paint, face accessories, on sale for dirt cheap. Remember last year I bought literally a bag of lashes, face glitter and a whole slew of stuff. So check out your local drug stores for sales. I know for sure Target and CVS are already marking down lashes and face paint. Stock up!!!!!!

The month is filled with so many of my friends birthdays... I have to wonder if anybody was actually born in any of the other months. Love them all and wish them all their heart desires. This month I also want to shout out my older brother as he is getting older :) Happy birthday Dukie.

All is well with me my dears... no complaints! *wink, wink* lol

I figured out a new segment I wanted to add to my yt channel. Dancehall makeup faux paus... you already know what the heck I'm talking out. The overdone blush, the unblended eyeshadow, the incorrect foundation matching. Thought I would add pictures... *evil giggle* but I'll refrain :)

On this edition of FR, I wanted to share a bit of a personal accomplishment with my readers.

October is breast cancer awareness month, as I hope you all know by all of the Pink Ribbons everywhere. Although I am not a breast cancer survivor, I do however commiserate as I am a cancer survivor. Teal is the color ribbon for my specific cancer cause, and our celebrated month is September. I am more than happy to announce that I am a survivor of uterine cancer! With the help of God, my family, friends and constant prayer anything is possible. As well I'd like to acknowledge the best damn obstetric oncology team ever!!!!

I have a few loved ones who are currently fighting cancer and to them I always offer constant encouragement and of course prayer.

You may not be a victim but I'm sure you know someone who has been touched by the disease.

A moment of silence to the loved ones I lost to cancer... *takes a moment of silence* RIP

Tomorrow is not guaranteed to anyone, with every breath you take make sure its a memorable one. I never live for tomorrow or yesterday, I literally live one day at a time. Stopping constantly throughout the day to give the Lord thanks! I thank him for the good and I even thank him for the bad things - cause we all know it could be worst!

Health and strength is all I pray for, everything else will fall right into place!

I hope that you all get involved and support one of the causes to support cancer research in hopes to find a cure. It's as simple as donating a 1.00 every time you go grocery shopping or donating time in your community to support a cause or event.

I began to perfect my craft of makeup artistry once I was diagnosed. The chemotherapy took a tool on my skin especially my face. So I literally had to paint a healthy face every time I left my home. Spending so much time behind closed doors, I practised. Then I began to communicate to the world hence the blog and the youtube channel. Staying in the bed for almost year.. can surely start up some creativity lol

And here I am today with the blog getting so much support, people embracing my youtube channel, and even working at one of my favorite cosmetic retailers. Literally a full circle.

Just thought I'd take a break and give thanks and spread some awareness.

What better way to describe it.. "Tings" lol

I'm a product junkie and people usually ask me for my honest opinion of products so here it is... enjoy!

Sooooo the other day when I purchased my Naked palette by UD... in order to get free shipping I had to purchase something for 6 bucks. So since I wanted the freeness I opted for this "Daily brush cleaner." Figuring I'd probably never use it, to my surprise I've been abusing it.

Searching for a pic on-line this is all I could find.. but this isnt how my bottle looks.

Although it's the same packaging. Ill upload a pic later of my actual bottle.

According to Sephora,

I will def agree! I usually have to set aside some time to clean all my make-up brushes, and wait for them to dry. Which could take a while. One day I was in a rush and couldn't bodda fi go wash noooo brushes. So I used the spray. It cleaned the brush completely. I couldnt believe it! So I use this for in-between brush washes. I usually spray the brush while it lays on a clean towel, rub the brush against the towel to release the makeup and before you know it the brush is clean and dry.

It's great for travel as well! Very convenient!

And at 6 bucks, it's a small price to pay for clean brushes that you will use on your face.

I use it almost daily. I haven't noticed any damage to my brushes, thus far.

Try it out and see for yourself! It's a great product.

On this edition of a FR... I bring to you moore missing updates :)

So unfortunately my last trip to the NYC was bittersweet.

I went for my grandaunts funeral. RIP Mrs. Jackson.

It was also Labor Day weekend... so that ment an extra day to run the city reeeeeeeeeed :)

Checked my boo of all boo's Lisa in the Bronx for my nail fix!

Hung out that night with my bestie, we attended Heather Instyle's birthday party!

I have NEVER attended a bday party where I wanted to literally take off a person's shoes, dress and fandangles! Dem nuh call ar Instyle for nothing! Mi seh decked ouuuuuuuuut! All now mi mout a wata..lol!

A great time had by all, we got there towards the end. Just enough time to hit the bar, whine go dung, see mi NYC frennies and have a good time! I'll have to add this to the list of "events not to miss."

The look...

soooo like how long have you seen this pic *giggles*... im getting to all the updates! Hush!

So this look was all done by Urban Decay's naked palette (check the link for my review)

Eyes:

Using their primer potion, I added a little of Mac's Rubenesque Paintpot all over the lid

From the palette: Lid: Half baked, Crease: Smog, Outer V: Darkhorse, Highlight: A mix of Virgin and Naked

I used the brown side of the UD liner for the bottom waterline and used the Black side for the upper lid

(that's atually my normal thing - black can sometimes be too dark on the lower lid)

Face:

Mac's Studio fix liquid foundation, Mac's MSF in medium Deep, Mac's Translucent Powder(Prep and Prime collection)

Cheeks: Light dusting of Dollymix

Contour the hollow of the cheeks, nose, forehead with Mac's MSF in Deep Dark

Hey heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy yes contour boo! get on it! *giggles*

Lips: Everybody loves this color and sooooo do I!! It's Mac's So chaud.

I love this color on every complexion! There is never a "good" color for a specific complexion.

It's all in how you wear it!

I was invited to attend the Emorj Couture fashion show here in Washington, DC.
My friend and designer DAuxilly was premiering her spring 2011 collection and I haaaaaad to be there!!!!

I was unsure what look I was goin for considering I had an extensive amount of dresses to choose from!
I decided on one and here is the look...

Starting with...

I created a deep purple cut-crease...

I finally got to welcome her to DC! I'm usually in NYC visiting her this time around she was in my neck of the woods. This show was nothing like I've ever seen! Extravagant, Breath-taking, Creative.. shall I go on!

On this edition of all things Fabulous and everything Red...

I had a date on this evening and had just arrived home from the hairstylist. Literally had 30mins to get dressed and beat face. So I was on super speed trying to get everything done. Here's the look, enjoy!

Since I was in a rush I'm sure to FIRST!!!!! do my eyebrows! I can literally go out with just my eyebrows done and whatever else, is in my purse can add the finishing touches.

-On the eyes I added a little primer

-Mac's Mulch e/s on the lid and Mac's Contrast in the crease and outer V of the eye

I prefer navy blues over black all the time.. try Contrast its great!

Finishing the look with my old faithful lippie combo Mac's Beet lip liner and Mac's Impassioned lipstick

On the cheeks: Mac's Dolly mix

and of course threw on lashes

Concealer under the eyes and a dusting of my natural MSF all over

Dash on one of the million black dresses I have in my closet and hit the town!!!

Things I keep in mind in a rush:

-Eyebrows!!! but if you don't have time I've learned to use an old brown mascara and fill in your brows and a little pencil for definition

-I keep lots of lipgloss and lipsticks in my purse so whatever is in the bag get s used

-I always keep some sort of finishing powder in my bag so that can also be left off of the list of things to do when rushing out the door

-lashes or lots of mascara.. either will do

-if you keep an eyeshadow quad with you.. e/s can be used for lips/cheeks and eyes

so pick something that is versatile

Hmmmm that gives me an idea... what's in my bag???? I'll do a video shortly :)

Here I go again.. with trying to have some added structure to my life. But is there really any structure when it comes to creativity???? aaaaah Nope!!! I say this, to say... that I wanted to announce that I was going to have a set day to do blog updates.. which I still will. Presenting *tadaaaaaaaaaaaa* Updates Wednesday's or Wednesday's updates.. (like I'm announcing a new dance date or something *giggles*)

I want some consistency with my blogging so I will make a commitment to update weekly every hump day. But then there are those times when I'm bursting with information and things to share... and then you get a post like now.. with likkle nicks and nacks :) Enjoy!!

I've decided to add a new installment to my blog. Anyone who knows me either personally or by my public persona KNOOOOWS that I am utterly obsessed with perfume!

I am usually seen buying 3 or 4 bottles at a time... it's not a compulsive obsession, but one nonetheless that is attributed to me having the biggest nose in the world! *giggles*

I have a massive collection of perfumes and each season I continue to add to the family :)

So as the season is beginning to change and the fall fashion campaigns are amongst us, it's only right that I begin to find my fall scent!

I arrived home earlier this week to see all my fall mags(or my kids) stocked on my step.

**Will definitely be doing a little synopsis of whats hot and whats not for the fall... look out for that soon!!!**

I have a ritual for my September issues... once I've received them all! (vogue, elle, bazaar, allure, cosmo, and W) I lock up for the whole weekend and consume each magazine from cover to cover!

But I cheated.. just a little :)

I did a quick thumb through and stopped at the new Gucci campaign for their new women's fragrance.

I peeled open the sample and SCREAAAAAAAAAAAAMED! I was in love at first smell :)

Took a quick trip to Bloomies to meet her in person :)

The add entails:

"top notes are of pink pepper, heart note of lilac, base notes of patchouli and amber" -gucci.com

the 50ml is retailing for 75.00

If you are familiar with the recent Gucci line of women's fragrance then you will notice the more airy scents. Versus the older fragrances by Gucci which -in my opinion are extremely bold.

**Remembering to spray perfume on your pulse points and forearm's as the hair on your arm will absorb the scent. Also never spray perfume on arms/wrist and rub together. You breakdown the perfume manually versus allowing it to set on your skin and absorb gradually.** just a littly FYI :)

It is def a must buy! This scent can definitely transcend seasons.

Great for the evening out or for work(less of course)

The scent is very mature and compells you to constantly smell your wrist.

While at Bloomies I decided to visit the new Theirry Muggler perfum Womanity

I was very excited to try this new scent as I am a huge fan of Angel.

The sales associate has soo many disclaimers about the scent so I was a bit apprehensive as well as intrigued.

She instructed me to spray on my arm and let it aerate for a few minutes... um like 10 minutes :-/

So I tried it on the paper sample first. I waited a few moments and smelled the paper.

The scent is extremely powerful!

According to the site: " fig fruit, caviar accord, and wood or a musk accord"

It was indeed overpowering but you cannot tell a perfume's true intent on paper so I tried a sample on my forearm. I waited a few moments and smelled. The initial note you smell is the wood. After a few more moments the musk of wood becomes sweet as the fig begins to protrude through. Once the notes begin to mix and the "oceanic scent of caviar" becomes noticeable, I was abruptly displeased with it. The sales associate instructed not wear it to work or in closed areas. This scent is for outdoors or for evenings out. Well I left bloomies, and every now and again, I would smell my arm and the scent began to make me feel a bit nauseated. It's extremely overpowering and the notes are an unusual combination.

Sorry but this will not be making it into the family.

My body chemistry may be different from yours, so try it and tell me what you think.

It retails for about 80 bucks.If your a fan of musk - which I am not! You should give this perfume a try.

One of the DMV's most anticipated events for the summer has arrived!!!

or shall I say it came, we went, we shelled it dung!

*giggles*

Miss Ida's Annual All White event *sings* *all white eerrrrthang - jeezy*

Ida's is one of the DMV's veteran dancehall promoters. Known on every major scene as a great supporter and an even better promoter of social events! She keeps her annual All white in June but I believe an angel above (RIP Rraw Dawg) prefers it to be in August. People from all over the globe attend her events, which makes the anticipation even greater for attendance. Not to mention all the new faces :)

Letttttttttttttts not talk about the fashion - nooooooo let us!

All white sets a prestige for coming out dressed to impress. It's no wonder the vibes of the evening was mature and very celebratory. Not a glitch came into play this evening.

Everyone partied, mingled, played in the video light and went home!

She looked absolutely gorgeous! My friend described her dress as saying,

"this is my party b*&%&"

I was in a bit of a rush so I was unable to do a step by step tutorial but I have tones of pictures of the final product. There is even a vlog, which captures me leaving for the event, and a little snippet when I came home. I love events where people who rarely come out are in attendance. I gave a lot of hugs and kisses that night! Always happy to see old friends, to embrace and enjoy positive company.

I really enjoyed the company of my girls for the evening. *gasp* My sister even attended the event - she NEVER goes out! That's when I knew it was going to be a good night!

On to the look...

Face:

-Mac's nc45 liquid foundation

-Contoured the face with Mac's natural msf in Deep

Eyes:

-Did my brows

-Prepped my eye's with UDPP and Hips paint in Steely

-Mac's eyeshadows: Knight Divine, Cinderfella, Filament, making a gradual change of color

(beginning with Platinum Silver from Hip on my tear ducts, I used the Mac shadows to make a transition of colors from silver to smoke grey to black then smoked the eye with Cinderfella in the crease)

-Highlight - Mac's Arena e/s for a natural look

-The lower eyeline: painterly paint pot by Mac, Mac's Gesso e/s(white), Mac's platinum pigment(wet), and Mac's fascinating eye kohl for the water line

-Wet and Wild's black gel pot for the winged eye

-Ardell lashes in 111

-A few fandangles on the face, as the event was called the diamond edition

Lips:

-Mac's All styled up lipstick

-She-zam dazzleglass
